Olde English Babydoll Southdown Sheep go by many names but our favorite is "the smiling sheep." Their sweet, loving faces perfectly match their personality. Babydoll sheep are docile, friendly, and gentle. They are smaller than standard sheep making them perfect for small farms and 4H showing. Babydolls are naturally polled (do not have horns) and are not aggressive by nature. They are also ideal companion animals for other livestock. Sheep are herd animals, they do not do well without another sheep around.
There are 3 main registries for Babydolls. BSSBA, NABSSAR, OEBMSSR
Babydoll Sheep fleece is usually 19-22 microns, which means it is in the class of cashmere. Also, since it has more barbs per inch than other wool it is ideal for blending with other fibers.
